    This intensive 60-week diploma is tailored for regulated healthcare professionals ready to pursue dual registration in both their existing discipline and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Building on your clinical experience, the program deepens your understanding of acupuncture theory and practice, preparing you to write the Pan-Canadian examinations and apply for registration with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).

    This pathway is ideal if you have completed the 21-week Contemporary Acupuncture certificate and want to continue toward full licensing as an acupuncture practitioner. With no weekday daytime classes and a hybrid learning format, it supports your professional advancement while you continue to work. Students benefit from dedicated campus support at Toronto, London, Mississauga, Brampton, Kitchener, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Windsor.

    Program Details

    Take your practice to the next level with advanced acupuncture training designed for healthcare professionals pursuing dual registration.

    This intensive diploma program builds on your clinical experience and offers deep immersion in Traditional Chinese Medicine. You’ll expand your expertise through advanced coursework in acupuncture point functions, diagnosis and treatment strategies, internal medicine, gynecology, orthopedics, TCM nutrition, and jurisprudence. Practical skills are sharpened through advanced needling techniques, Qigong/Tai Chi, and Tuina massage therapy.

    You’ll complete 528 hours of clinical practicum, including direct patient care clinics, observation labs, and case studies, all designed to prepare you for real-world success. The program also includes 42 hours of exam and registration prep to help you confidently pursue CTCMPAO licensure and the Pan-Canadian exams.

    This Acupuncture Practitioner diploma is offered at our London, Brampton, and Ottawa campuses, with a flexible delivery model combining online evening classes and in-person weekend clinics.

    Must be: Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) or Physiotherapist or Chiropractor or Medical Doctor qualified to practice in Ontario.
    If you have an equivalent education, are retired or have an inactive registration from a registered healthcare profession, you may request an eligibility review of your application.

    SKILL/PRACTICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • A copy of an existing vulnerable person background check is required and to be submitted prior to participating in any clinic activity. If one does not exist, it must be acquired.
    • Students must complete all academic pre-requisites and complete 12 hours of Clinical Observation prior to participating in any clinic activity.
