September 26th, 2025

Toronto, ON; triOS College, part of the triOS Education Group, is pleased to announce the new Addiction Mental Health Worker (AMHW) diploma program, which is an elevated offering of Addiction Worker which responds to the growing need for professionals trained in both addiction and mental health support.
This updated program builds on triOS’s existing addiction-focused training by expanding its curriculum, updating the program length, and incorporating new certifications to ensure graduates are better prepared to meet the realities of today’s healthcare and community service environments.
The 66-week AMHW diploma, delivered through live, instructor-led online sessions, equips students with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed. A 12-week internship in treatment centres, clinics, or community agencies provides graduates with real-world experience that strengthens employability from day one.
Program highlights include:
- Comprehensive dual focus – Addiction and mental health training combined to prepare graduates for diverse frontline roles.
- Industry-recognized certifications – Students graduate with high-value credentials including Mental Health First Aid (St. John’s Ambulance), Suicide Prevention, Risk Assessment & Management (SPRAM), Trauma and Violence Informed Care, and Helping Trafficked Persons, giving them specialized skills that employers value.
- Updated and career-driven curriculum – Courses in crisis intervention, relapse prevention, family dynamics, concurrent disorders, and program planning ensure that graduates are well equipped to support individuals and communities facing complex challenges.
- Career readiness built in – With training in digital literacy, professional networking, and career planning, students leave with polished résumés, LinkedIn profiles, and job search strategies that support immediate entry into the workforce.
Graduates are prepared for positions such as Addiction Worker, Distress Centre Support Worker, Outreach Worker, Peer Support Worker, Group Home Worker, and Community Counsellor. The employment outlook for the field remains strong, with graduates earning an average of $25 per hour, with potential wages up to $37 per hour, depending on role and region.
A shorter 50-week Addiction Worker with Internship diploma is also available, designed for students seeking a faster pathway into the field while still benefiting from an internship and industry-aligned training.
