triOS Exploring Gaming With The Ontario Science Centre
December 13th, 2019 / By triOS College
Game On 2.0 at the Ontario Science Centre is an interactive video game exhibition that will engage audiences with the history, culture and future of video gaming entertainment and technology. With triOS College Business Technology Healthcare as the presenting sponsor of Game On 2.0, the public will experience the world of gaming and realize its potential as a rewarding career in Canada.
The Canadian gaming industry continues to blossom and is becoming internationally-known for its strong base of diverse and well-trained talent. As the industry grows however, there will be an increasing shortage of talent across all job categories*. 77 per cent* of Canadian gaming companies are expected to hire new graduates in 2013.
“In the coming years, skilled video game graduates will be in high demand. It is vital to get people thinking about gaming as a viable career option. This partnership with the Ontario Science Centre as the Presenting Sponsor of Game On 2.0, will engage audiences to think about gaming as more than a pastime. Once they discover the career opportunities within this sector, triOS College can provide the most comprehensive video game training to prepare them with in-demand skills that will help them find employment quickly after graduating,” said Stuart Bentley, triOS College President.
At the end of each unit in the triOS gaming program, students are required to complete a game and therefore gain sophisticated knowledge and hands-on experience. Recent graduates have had high placement rates and have gone to work for reputable companies ranging from small indie companies to large, internationally-renowned companies.
During the run of the exhibition, triOS College will showcase a prominent display adjacent to the entrance of the Game On 2.0 exhibition, demonstrating how video games are developed and designed. Game On 2.0 is included with general admission to the Ontario Science Centre. For further information visit www.OntarioScienceCentre.ca or call 416-696-1000.
