Personal Support Workers (PSW’s) provide support to people who need ongoing care due to age, illness or injury. Our 31- weeks Personal Support Worker Program enables you for a rewarding career in the healthcare industry as a provider of personal support services to patients and their families, at home, in hospitals and in long-term care facilities.

Being a Personal Support Worker is a rewarding career in the healthcare industry, providing support to those who need ongoing care due to age, illness, or injury.

 

This Program provides the clinical skills, hands-on training and practical experience required to perform the duties of a Personal Support Worker, including assistance in routine daily activities, personal care and hygiene, help with mobility and management of household tasks. Nineteen weeks in class training teaches you key courses in PSW Theory, including Household Management, Nutrition and Hydration, Cognitive and Mental Health Issues, Brain Injuries, Care Planning and Assisting with Medications. A twelve-week clinical placement gives you real world experience to pursue employment opportunities in senior citizens’ homes, nursing homes or hospitals.
