Many individuals enroll in educational institutions to gain hands-on training to prepare for a new career. Those unemployed or laid off because of COVID-19 may be eligible for assistance through the newly enhanced Ontario Second Career program.

“Many Ontarians have had their jobs negatively impacted by COVID-19 and are looking to retrain for their next career. triOS College welcomes those who are looking to find a satisfying new career in dynamic and exciting fields with many job prospects. With our knowledgeable instructors and staff, we strive to cultivate an inclusive learning environment where we stay up to date on industry trends and provide lots of hands-on experience. Under the enhanced Second Career Program, qualifying Ontarians may be eligible for up to $28,000 in funding to assist with the cost of their tuition, fees, books, transportation, childcare, and other applicable expenses including a basic living allowance up to a maximum of $410 per week. While the program is available to laid-off workers and job-seekers, priority is given to those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. Applicants may qualify for the Second Career Program if they have been laid-off and are not working or are laid off and now temporarily employed to cover living costs. Individuals who have received or are receiving Employment Insurance (EI) may also be eligible. Interested applicants can speak to one of the Financial Assistance Officers at triOS College who can aid them in identifying the many financial assistance options available to them.
